Gerald & Amanda: Bound By Love

In September, I was very honored to capture some special family moments a couple weeks before the nuptials of Gerald & Amanda. In the process, I met a very loving and gracious family; and an adorable set of young ladies!

The Lonely Pipes of Scotland

– By Cheryl Alexander –

I’ve heard the lonely pipes of Scotland,
Many times in my dreams,
I’ve seen the land of my ancestors,
Clearly, it seems.
The bright colors of the tartan,
The lively swing of the kilt,
Sent my minds eye back,
To the place my ancestors knelt.
Rather in a castle, built for a king,
Or in a garden, which grew everything.
I have been given a gift to peep,
When I close my eyes and fall asleep.
It is as if I were standing there,
I’ve witnessed great battle and love,
The courage and strength of my granddads,
And granddads before them,
All tower from above.
And surrounding them all, with a tune of its own,
were the lonely pipes of Scotland,
Calling me home.

Senior year is finally here, the time is now.
Before we graduate, let’s take a bow.
We’ve grown up so fast, let’s make our final moments together last.
We’ve had tons of fun, now our work here is done.

We’ll never forget all the friendships we’ve won.
We’re all here, so let’s give a cheer!
Our high school years have gone by fast.
Let’s focus on the future, not the past.
High school’s been like a flight, let’s go into the light.

Freshman, sophomore, and junior year was a lot of fun.
Now that we’re seniors, our work is almost done.
It’s almost time to graduate, there’s no time to wait.
Let’s submit those college applications, before it’s too late.
Whenever we leave, let’s not forget.
All the memories we’ve shared, all the people we’ve met.
